Anyone who owns a Steam copy of The Astronauts' supernatural first-person mystery The Vanishing of Ethan Carter may want to update the game.

The developer has released a free Redux version of the cult hit, completely updating it from Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal Engine 4, improving its general performance and graphics, and adding a number of new features.

The Astronauts have announced that The Vanishing of Ethan Carter has sold over 60k copies in its first month, and have even produced an infographic helping dissect the data. Western Europe took half the sales.

The US gobbled the most units, followed by Germany and then Russia. Steam was the lead digital distributor with 77%, and over 480 players spent more than 20 hours in the game. Only 3 found the sniper rifle.
