Conan Exiles Enhanced is coming, a free and massive visual overhaul that’s bringing the enduring survival open-world title into Unreal Engine 5. Here’s what we know about the huge update transforming Conan Exiles so far.
Funcom (Dune: Awakening) remains the developer and publisher of the hit eight-year-old survival game. Actually, Conan Exiles will be eight on May 8, so the timing of this overhaul is no coincidence. To get a quick but full rundown with everything that’s been announced ahead of its arrival, scroll down below.
Conan Exiles Enhanced Release Date
The surprise announcement of Conan Exiles Enhanced gave us not only a proper look at the UE5-powered changes which will transform the game, but also a solid release date… that is right around the corner.

Conan Exiles Enhanced Content
While Conan Exiles Enhanced is mostly a visual overhaul, it’s also reshaping Conan Exiles in substantial ways that longtime fans will appreciate. And if you’re coming in fresh, you only need to know it’s a rather unforgiving survival game with brutal combat and deep base-building mechanics set in the world of Conan the Barbarian that you can play solo, co-op, or on big persistent servers.
On the visual front, we know Conan Exiles Enhanced has been built with Unreal Engine 5’s advancements, which offer “dramatically improved visuals, enhanced performance, and modern rendering technology.” This means a sharper overall look and obviously superior lighting techniques applied to both interiors and exteriors.
Perhaps more interesting is the mention that UE5 also allows “smoother” 60+ FPS gameplay across all graphical presets on a wider range of hardware, though we’ll have to wait until its release to see if the overall experience is as smooth as we’ve been promised. As an extra, it’s claimed the performance on Steam Deck has been improved, which would be a huge win for many curious players.
While no exclusive content is being added (players will be able to use every DLC and post-launch content added since 2018), we know “players who own the giant Isle of Siptah expansion will now also be able to travel freely between the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah.” Conan Exiles Enhanced is now a seamless experience that merges both maps instead of having players pick one at the start of the game. This also applies to multiplayer servers.

Conan Exiles Enhanced Price, Platforms & Pre-Orders
Players, new or veteran, won’t need to buy Conan Exiles again to enjoy the Enhanced improvements. “We wanted to offer this for free to fans past, present, and future, as an anniversary gift and a token of our appreciation for their support.”
It must be noted, however, that, at the time of writing, Conan Exiles Enhanced is only coming to the Steam (PC) version of the game. Other PC platforms and the console versions aren’t getting it… yet. Funcom says it’s exploring such upgrades on other platforms, but can’t share anything yet.
If you already own Conan Exiles on Steam, you’re good to go (but remember you’ll need to pick up the DLCs if you want to enjoy them too). Otherwise, seek deep discounts or grab it at its recommend regular price of $39.99 / £33.99.
