Jorgen Tharldsen, Product Manager for Funcom, told MTV recently that the departure of Producer and Game Designer Gaute Godager from the company will allow Funcom to take their Age of Conan product in new ways. Godager cited dissatisfaction with Age of Conan for one of his reasons for leaving Funcom. However Tharldsen was quick to point out that Godager is “one of the luminaries of the MMO world”.
Speaking on the new Game Director for Age of Conan, Craig Morrison, Tharldsen said, “we get a direction which is more player-centric, since [he] is so good at being hands-on with the communities at all times. As we are now in a live phase with “Conan” that is really the only goal, you know, making sure our players are happy and have fun.”
