A main developer responsible for pushing forward The Matrix Online’s plot through live events has announced his departure, or ‘unplugging’.
Chamberlain is not only leaving the MMO but also the games industry ”after ten years” in the development trenches. Once the critical Update 66 goes live he’ll be off over the horizon.
”This new year brought me a series of surprises–surprises that have led me to conclude that after ten years in the game industry–seven of those on The Matrix Online–it is time for me to go,” posted SOE’s Chamberlain.
”I’ll be posting most of my story documentation, including the outline for the overall story that had been planned through the end of this year–a year that was to wrap up pretty much all of the main story we’ve had so far–as well as the detailed mission and event plans for each subchapter all the way back to 5.2.”
”These will, I hope, answer some questions. Where the story goes from here, however, will be–finally–up to you.”
Update 66 addresses numerous graphical issues the online game has with Windows Vista.
