Recently a deal has come to light that has Fox Atomic and developer Zombie working together on a new ”transmedia” property called Blacklight.
Zombie CEO Mark Long says they’re ”really lucky” to have met Fox Atomic producers Eric Lieb and Zak Kadison, adding the ”game is actually very far along” thanks to Epic’s Unreal.
”I have to say, we were really lucky in meeting Eric Lieb and Zak Kadison, the producers at Fox Atomic, when we did,” explained Long, speaking with GamesIndustry.biz. ”Eric in particular immediately understood what we wanted to do.”
”They’re all about transmedia and Eric is the editor-in-chief of their comic imprint. I was preaching to the choir. They jumped on it before any of the other production companies even got back to us.”
There’s no specifics on a release for the videogame, film or even comic book launch yet but the developer is at least confident with their progress so far. All that’s known of Blacklist right know is that it’s about ”a covert ops team in a dystopian future battle for peace and security.”
”The game is actually very far along,” he said. ”Epic and Unreal, always making us look good, I like to say.” Blacklight is set 25 years into the future and has been described as a tactical FPS. Time will tell if Zombie and Fox Atomic have more than just a fling going on.
