Yesterday, GameTrailer’s Geoff Keighley claimed that Alan Wake: Night Springs was so large, it might as well be Alan Wake 2. Today, Alan Wake developer Remedy refuted that analogy, stating that while Night Springs was ”ambitious”, it was not Alan Wake 2.
According to senior writer Mikko Rautalahti, “I’m very glad that he’s (Geoff) excited about it, he’s obviously saying very nice things and we’re proud of the game. However, I think that since he invokes the ‘Alan Wake 2′ name, I should reiterate what we’ve said all along: this new game is not Alan Wake 2, and if we intended it to be that, we’d have named it that. (I know he means it as a compliment, and I appreciate that, I just don’t want there to be any confusion about it.).”
More information about the mysterious standalone expansion will be revealed during the Spike TV Videogame Awards this coming Saturday.
