The ‘First Strike’ downloadable content for Call of Duty: Black Ops was a smash hit on Xbox Live Marketplace, selling 1.4M downloads. PlayStation 3 gamers need not feel left out, though, as it will be hitting the PlayStation Network on March 3.
Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard bragged, ”Since Call of Duty: Black Ops was launched in November players have spent an average of 52 minutes per day playing online, roughly equivalent to the 55 minutes that the average user spends each day on Facebook. As of February 2, 2011, more than 27 million gamers have played Call of Duty games online, logging more than 2 billion hours, or the equivalent of more than 229,000 years of gameplay.”
The zombie monkey DLC remains the same for PS3 as it was for the Xbox 360 version:
* “Berlin Wall,” a new map surrounding the iconic barrier, gives players access to both sides of Cold War Berlin
-
“Stadium” delivers plenty of fast-paced, close-quarters combat set in the backdrop of a sports complex
-
“Discovery” is an abandoned German outpost set along the coast of Antarctica
-
“Kowloon” spans the tiered levels of high-rises and rooftops of Kowloon City, Hong Kong
-
“Ascension” pits players against hoards of vicious, perk-stealing zombie monkeys, flesh-eating Soviet Zombies and more in a trap-filled, Cold War era cosmodrome.
