Electronic Arts has announced three new digital expansion packs for Battlefield 3, which will be released over the course of the next few months, including “Close Quarters” in June, “Armored Kill” in the Fall, and “End Game” in the winter.
Close Quarters will see players dropped into an infantry-only theatre of war with massively destructible environments, as ”everything from furniture to plaster gets shot to pieces.” It will also introduce new weapons, assignments and unique dog tags that can be brought back to the base game. In contrast, Armored Kill goes to the other extreme with ”vehicular mayhem.” The update will include new driveable tanks, ATVs, and mobile artillery with appropriately huge battlefields, including the biggest map in Battlefield history.
The details of the last DLC, End Game, are ”tightly guarded”.
Battlefield 3 was released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 last October 2011.
