Newell commands over 50% of Valve, meaning he’s worth around $1.5bn as Valve is thought to be rocking $3bn. Steam’s 40 million users and Portal 2 clinched it.
$3bn was the most conservative estimate of Valve’s worth, apparently. Surely if anyone deserves to be a billionaire in the video games industry it’s one of the found fathers to Steam?
