Nothing was announced about a new Dragon Age, only teased that BioWare is taking feedback seriously. They'll "stop reusing levels" for one thing, and have "decisions that matter".
Orlais is a neighbouring territory to DA: Origin's Ferelden and DA2's Free Marches. It has been referenced heavily in both, and was once an occupying force of its neighbours.
Laidlaw showed off some concept artworks of open spaces, and emphasised the studio wanted to explore something fresh in the new game. "If we really have to go somewhere urban, let’s not go to Kirkwall," he said, eliciting a laugh from the audience. “Let’s go somewhere new. Maybe somewhere a little more – French.”
BioWare will be focusing on "decisions that matter" with the new Dragon Age as many complained they felt the decisions they did make were too small and didn't impact enough. Also equipment for your travelling band of adventurers returns. "Yah. It’s back," stated Laidlaw. In DA2 companions managed their own wardrobe but you could 'upgrade'.
The BioWare creative director said that "in theory" players should be able to customise armour colours and even fabrics used for their party members, who can wear shared armour that won't detract their unique looks. Nothing at this stage is finalised however and could change dramatically by the time we see anything of it.
