A social service website will be fired up by Capcom to keep track of Resident Evil 6 statistics when it releases, with friends able to compare with one another and compete, revealed the publisher during its conference at GamesCom 2012 today.
ResidentEvil.net will catalogue weapon stats, enemies killed, gameplay progress of you and friends, Mercenaries scores, real-time progress and more. Capcom will run community objectives for content.
The news breaks from Capcom’s pre-Gamescom press conference. Should fans collectively kill 10k zombies over a weekend they’d get new content to enjoy, for example.
The social site will also utilise RE Points as a currency which is spendable on unlockables, minifigures and other goodies. ResidentEvil.net collects all campaign moments like mission files and story hotspots so you can get nostalgic. There’ll be no charge to gamers for this community stat hub.
Resident Evil 6 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 2nd.
