CBS Films released a presser announcing that Scott Derrickson will be directing the big screen adaptation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Derrickson’s resume includes Sinister and The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
Derrickson is also penning the screenplay with fellow Sinister scribe C. Robert Cargill. Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh are producing, while John P. Middleton exec producing.
Derrickson stated, ”Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence. By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. Cargill and I can’t wait to bring it to the big screen.”
It’ll be interesting to see how Derrickson handles the exploits of Adam Jensen - it’ll be even more interesting to see how the film sets up JC Denton and Deus Ex.
