They’re curious because they mention named missions or scenarios, with descriptions that appear to hint at little challenges. The consensus is that Firaxis has done XCOM proud.
The studio don’t look to just revive the veteran PC series with just a new boxed game though. Apparently they’ll be adding more trouble for us Earthlings down the road.
The achievements were spotted by a player over on the 2K Games forums. They mention in their descriptions: ‘Confounding Light,’ ‘Deluge,’ ‘Friends in Low Places,’ ‘Gangplank’ and ‘Portent.’ This sounds like there could be special scenarios to tackle, or maybe even missions that could be added to the main campaign.
Confounding Light involves a ‘timer’ based on the number of turns it takes, which is already featured in XCOM when you have to deploy a squad to disarm a rather nasty bomb. Check out our review of XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
