While BioWare has promised that it will deal with the ending controversy of Mass Effect 3, the Retake Mass Effect movement has taken a much sweeter, tastier turn, as the members have raised more than $1000 to ship 400 cupcakes to Bioware's Edmonton offices. It seems odd that Retake Mass Effect would take such a sugary tactic, but according to the group, "As fans, we want Bioware to do right by us, and fix the endings for Mass Effect 3. But we also want to let Bioware know, that we trust them, and have faith in them. Bioware has been slammed by negativity from all sides in the last few weeks. This is our way, as fans, to drive our message home, but in a (literally) sweet way. We want Bioware to add some more 'sweet' to their 'bittersweet' ending. What better way to do this than with CUPCAKES :-D." The cupcakes will come from an Edmonton-based bakery called Fuss Cupcakes. The order was confirmed by the company, and was delivered to BioWare earlier today. The previous attempt by Retake Mass Effect was a Child's Play charity fundraiser that was shut down by the charity itself, fearing it was being used as a tool to bring attention to the wrong party. The fund had raised $80,000 when it was shut down. |
