UK-based developer Frontier Developments has announced that players who backed Elite Dangerous on Kickstarter for at least 200 quid can now access the alpha build of the space trading/combat game.
According to the developer, the first access is "phase one", focusing on single player combat.
"The aim of Phase One - 'Single Player Combat' is to test key aspects of ship control and combat systems," explains the developer, "Piloting a Sidewinder with varying weapon configurations, players progress through 8 single player scenarios -- initially designed to familiarize players with the controls, gradually increasing in difficulty and complexity."
Elite: Dangerous will be undergoing many alpha "phases" in the next few months. Players can still back the game on the official site here.
