So immense is Grand Theft Auto V’s launch, in which it took $800 million in 24 hours, that Microsoft’s Major Nelson has put together an official guide to installing GTA V’s play disc via a USB stick.
Problems arose when gamers installed the play disc alongside the mandatory installation of 8GB. The Xbox 360 console would bottleneck data leading to texture troubles.
Digital Foundry discovered the solution was to install the play disc not on the HDD but on a separate medium, such as a decent USB memory stick.
Microsoft has felt compelled to produce an official guide to the process of using this method for those who prefer not to have a disc spinning in the Xbox 360 DVD tray.
