One of EA’s staff on the Frostbite engine team has revealed a little early the existence of Need for Speed: Rivals, which is said to be in the works for current and next-gen consoles over at Ghost Games.
More details on Rivals are expected to spill out soon, with it possibly being a kind of sequel to PSP’s Need for Speed: Underground Rivals. Number plates suggest it’s out November.
It was EA technical artist Andy Klein that spilled the beans online, before shortly removing their PR-disproved communique. EA will give us details later today.
”@EA @FrostbiteEngine prepare for #NFSRivals in Frostbite!” tweeted Klein. ”FAST and beautiful, I’m quite proud to work with this team!” An in-game image was included in the post since removed. The news of an announcement in the Need for Speed series came from the official Facebook, accompanying the tag ‘The Rivalry Begins.’
