Launch parties were held in Seoul, Taipei, Warsaw, Stockholm, and Los Angeles on the night of March 24th. Reaper of Souls added a new class and game mode.
Diablo III also scored over 2.4 million views on launch day through Twitch. The expansion was preceded by the Loot 2.0 patch, and closure of the auction house.
“With Reaper of Souls, we wanted to emphasize all the things that Diablo gamers have always loved about the series, from the dark gothic setting to the piles and piles of epic loot,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re excited to see that players are enjoying the changes we’ve made to the game, and we look forward to achieving our Paragon levels alongside everyone else in the weeks and months ahead.”
The new Adventure Mode removes travel restrictions across Sanctuary as our Nephalem heroes can do battle wherever they please fulfilling bounties that pay out in gold, experience and even sacks of random loot. There are also the Nephalem rifts designed to mix things up with every new level we enter.
