Star Wars: Battlefront II might be a casualty of the incoming GameSpy server shutdowns on May 31, but hope is not yet lost for fans of the multiplayer shooter.
In a post on Reddit the owner of online gaming service GameRanger has revealed that the title is currently available through his service, and should remain so for the foreseeable future. Scott Kevill posted the following message in a thread discussing Battlefront II.
“Developer of GameRanger here. As mentioned elsewhere, people are already playing it just fine on GameRanger, and will continue to after May 31. (I’ve already simulated it with GameSpy blocked and cut-off.)”
GameRanger is also currently hosting Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo: Custom Edition, as Microsoft has ceased support for both titles.
