The latest gameplay video for Alien: Isolation show that it’s not just a nine-foot xenomorph that you’ll have to look out for when traversing the abandoned space station Sevastopol. Apparently there will also be some creepy human enemies (I’m assuming they’re hostile- one is definitely on fire).
Judging from the last few moments of the trailer though, that hulking alien monster still the threat I’d be most worried about.
Set fifteen years after the original Alien film, Isolation stars Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda, who’s desperately searching for information on her mother’s disappearance.
Players will have to scavenge supplies, makeshift weapons and medicine from the environment, while constantly keeping on eye out for any acid-dripping monstrosities that fancy a free lunch. Those humanoid (thinking about it probably android, considering they don’t seem too bothered by fire) enemies are intriguing. We don’t know too much yet about the overarching plot, and actually I’m pretty glad. Looking forward to investigating for myself.
It’s out this year, October 7 on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Check out our preview and interview with creative lead Al Hope for more details.
