The raft of screenshot releases continues to increase for Dragon Age: Inquisition, with the latest teaser showing off the ”arid, corrupt, and dangerous” Western Approach. BioWare posted the screens on the official Dragon Age Twitter.

Personally I love arid, corrupt and dangerous things, so I’m all for the Western Approach. Here’s some more info about the areas torn from the hallowed pages of the Dragon Age wiki.
”The Western Approach is a large, arid expanse in the southerwestern Orlais. Farther west lie the Hunterhorn Mountains and uninhabited steppes and forests. This area was the site of a big battle during the Second Blight. The darkspawn swarmed out of the great chasm to the south named the Abyssal Rift and corrupted the land beyond recovery. Now it is a stark and sad place with unstable purple sands, occasional rocky pillars and ridges jutting out of them and strong howling winds. At night the air grows still and the sky is alight with shimmering auroras, but this is also the time when the darkspawn come out of hiding.”
Sounds lovely. In addition to chasms, rifts and Darkspawn, there’s also a formerly Grey Warden-controlled castle redoubt known as the Adamant Fortress in the area. Given the focus on stronghold construction and maintenance in Inquisition, I’d say it’s a fair bet we’ll be stopping off there at some point on our journey.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is coming out for PC and consoles on October 7.
