This week’s latest patch for Assassin’s Creed: Unity is no longer happening as a new update from Ubisoft explains they want more time to go over the changes. Performance improvements will take longer.
Apparently they are going to ”refurbish the Paris map” and that’s why it needs a delay. Patch 4 is highly expected to address the horrendous framerate issues plaguing the Parisian populace.
”Rigorous quality control is of paramount importance to us, and your feedback over these past weeks has indicated that it is important to you as well,” reads Ubisoft’s latest on the Live Updates webpage.
”As stated last week, we’d expected to release the patch today (and we know that many are anticipating its release), but we are choosing to hold off until we can give you the improvements we’ve promised,” they continued. Framerates are said to be linked not to the sheer number of NPCs walking the streets, but the way their scheduling is handled.
”We are committed to delivering major performance improvements, which requires that we refurbish the Paris map and that will take a few more days to hit the high level of quality our players deserve.”
This week Ubisoft will be giving owners of the Unity Season Pass a choice of games through Uplay following their announcement to scrap it. All owners of Assassin’s Creed: Unity are being given DLC to-date for free as an apology for the troublesome launch.
