War Thunder is about to get a lot more personal as Gaijin Entertainment's Update 1.39 for the dogfighting MMO has received a new toolset letting pilots customise their planes from paint work to entirely new models.
They're going all 'user generated content' on War Thunder, and an internal system checks if these custom creations pass muster and abide the game's rules - if so, then they can be shared.
It's sort of like what UGC has done for Team Fortress 2, so expect a lot of fancy hat wearing planes I guess. Update 1.39 also tweaks plenty else in the MMO.
Gaijin Entertainment has released a new video to highlight the latest War Thunder update. The ground forces closed beta test is also being moved to the main server, and there's a new main map and 'many new planes'. The new toolset lets locations be created as well as missions to be shared with the community.
