It's always the Ultramarines, isn't it? Those self-important blue sods get all the credit and acclaim, and the poor old Imperial Fists have to wander around the Warhammer 40K universe, tidying up after orks and tyranids and getting absolutely no credit for it.
Well not longer. Indie developer Full Control has announced the first new content pack for its reworked board game adaptation Space Hulk: Ascension, the Imperial Fists Expansion. Can you guess what's in it?
As well as a whole new chapter to take into battle, the expansion adds 15 new story missions and 20 standalone flash missions, all designed around the Imperial Fists' preference for defensive fortification over direct assault. The chapter also brings the nasty Tarantula Turret to bear against the genestealers, an automated cannon that can tear through infantry (even infantry with hardened exoskeletons) like wet tissue paper. In exchange for this, they lose the ability to bring psykers into battle.
The new campaign is titled Shield of Retribution, and apparently adds around 15-20 hours of gameplay. Missions are signed with the Fists in mind, but you're more than welcome to try it out with other chapters.
You can grab the new DLC over on Steam. Any other chapters you'd like to see cleansing genestealers from the corridors of Space Hulk? I'd vote for the Charcharodons. Those guys don't mess about.
