Julian Gollop is well known for creating XCOM, although you can also credit him for creating the ZX Spectrum strategy game, Chaos: The Battle of Wizards, which was released in 1985.
Gollop is now planning to remake the game under the new name of Chaos Reborn for PC, Mac and Linux. The original Chaos: The Battle of Wizards was about battling other wizards in an area with an aim to be the last one standing in order to win the game.
”I think the original Chaos stands out as a game with unrealised potential.” said Gollop. ”I have spent the last year working on Chaos Reborn, writing the game design, creating a playable prototype and building my team.”
Chaos Reborn is going to be a turn-based strategy game with RPG elements and multiplayer and single player options. The core of the game will be very similar to Chaos: The Battle of Wizards, although it’ll feature 2 to 6 players in multiplayer and the single player mode allows you to customise your wizard and roam the Realms of Chaos, levelling up your wizard and collecting equipment as you go.
The kickstarter campaign hasn’t started yet, but the plan is to raise funds from it and then launch the game for PC, Mac and Linux within a year. We’ll let you know when the Kickstarter campaign begins.
