Amazon and Double Helix Games have issued a job posting for a Software Development Engineer role, hinting that the online retailer is looking to ramp up its forays into the game industry.
The job posting on Amazon's website is looking for a Software Engineer and "creative problem solver who enjoys working with designers and gameplay programmers on new tools for our existing and future game teams."
The post claims that Amazon and Double Helix "are looking for an engineer that is passionate about improving the lives of game developers, enabling them to quickly and easily create game experiences they never have before."
Does this hint at the long-predicted Amazon games console? Or are they moving into game production after their acquisition of Double Helix, makers of Killer Instinct and Strider, in February?
This humble reporter hopes so. Then we can all enjoy a gaming session on our Amazon console after finishing a book on our Amazon Kindle and eating the last of our Amazon-brand cornflakes in our well-furnished Amazon habitation cell.
