Harebrained Schemes continues to show other developers just how to run a Kickstarter campaign; its cyberpunk sequel Shadowrun: Hong Kong has now pushed past the $1 million funding mark with just over a day left to go.
That unlocks the final listed stretch goal, a mini-campaign set after the main storyline that allows you to import your high level character, and should add another four or five hours of gameplay.
It’s the latest in a long line of stretch goals that have unlocked new characters, missions, enhanced systems and more. As for any extra funding, Harebrained intends to put that towards its test budget, extra pizzas and bagels for the development team (a noble goal), and possibly a few hidden in-game extras.
Hong Kong takes the Shadowrun franchise to Asia for the first time, swapping the anarchic city-state of Berlin and the rainswept streets of Seattle for a corporate-controlled cityscape filled with bleeding-edge tech and deadly gangs.
