The first episode of narrative adventure spin-off Minecraft: Story Mode will be released on October 13 this year, developer Telltale Games has announced. Here’s the plot synopsis:
”In Minecraft: Story Mode, playing as either a male or female hero named ‘Jesse,’ you’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.”
As well as being able to choose between a male and female protagonist (always called Jesse), you’ll also be able to choose from the three different skins you see above. Jesse, voices by Patton Oswalt or Catherine Taber depending on your gender choice, will adventure across the Minecraft world alongside an impressive cast, featuring Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens.
Telltale also promises more news soon regarding the season finales of Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones.
