Battlefield: Hardline’s PC launch was, by the standard of some of the series past efforts’ at least, pretty damned solid. No server woes, no constant disconnections and matchmaking cock-ups.
Still, developer Visceral doesn’t want to rest on its laurels. Over on Battlelog the team has laid out a list of planned changes coming to the cops and robbers shooter in the near future.
First up is a re-jigging of the game’s Rep system, which allows players to unlock specific perks for each of the game’s classes. The Tiers have been “greatly reduced” in cost, and the talent paths have been reworked in order to make them a bit more interesting.
Also on the way are faster tick rate servers, which are currently being tested out in Battlefield 4’s Community Test Environment, Universal Soldier Aiming and ADS sensitivity sliders, and fixes to the Deployable Camera and Ballistic Shield. Spotting enemies and objects with the former should be easier, while it the latter’s achievements have been reworked to make them easier to unlock.
“We’re working on getting details for Expansion Pack 1 Criminal Activity together,” adds the game’s lead MP designer Thad Sasser. “The pack has shaped up nicely, all 4 maps are playing great and give new variety to the gameplay. There are some night maps. There’s other cool stuff in there too, like new Masks, but I won’t spoil it all before the announcement.”
All of the aforementioned changes haven’t made their way into Hardline yet, and Sasser isn’t ready to reveal a schedule for the next big patch. We’ll keep an eye out for any further info.
