One of the more frustrating issues with dialog wheels, which became popularized back in 2007 with Mass Effect, is that the brief descriptions can result in actions that were completely different than what players expected. A “Deal with it” option could, for instance, result in the player’s avatar taking a shotgun out and blowing a character away.
Fallout 4 has some elements of this, usually having single word dialog options, so a new mod changes all of that into a Dragon Age: Origins-style numbered dialog tree, with the first sentence of what the actual spoken dialog response actually is.
The Full Dialogue Interface mod comes in two flavors: lite and full. The lite version is gamepad friendly, as the dialog response appears when the player selects an option with the arrow keys or a thumbstick. The full version is suited to keyboard and mouse by just putting a numbered list of the dialog.
According to co-modder Cirosan, who translated the original mod to English, ”Thanks to shadwar’s work, it also revamps the interface so that the game will now display dialogue options in a list and use the number keys for input, instead of clustering all of them together and forcing you to use the arrow keys.”
