OlliOlli developer Roll7 is working on Not A Hero, the game where an assassin turns Mayoral campaign manager to secure votes for an anthropomorphic bunny from the future called BunnyLord. Yes, that old chestnut.
While the indie team would have loved to delay "on several occasions for no discernable reason," they've got Devolver Digital publishing, so they had to "stop messing around" and get it launched.
The city is gripped with constant fear from crime lords out of control, so the solution is a blood-soaked Mayoral campaign for BunnyLord as he and his 'staff' clean-up the city. Steve is the campaign manager, and he's been hiring more "dubious heroes" to help out.
"Through extensive market research we were able to establish that the ideal indie game combines subtle political satire with intense, unrestrained violence from an anthropomorphic rabbit from the future,” said Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker. “Extensive market research.”
The game is powered by the engine ISO-Slant, which allows developers to utilise a 'sweet spot' between 2D and 2.5D perspectives, and Roll7 has been using an "almost irresponsible use" of it.
Not A Hero releases on PC May 7th. All praise be to Brian, the God of Gods.
