Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is coming to the Windows 10 and Xbox, allowing PC gamers to experience the exploits of a gruff band of muscly human armchairs as they fend off the equally burly alien Locust.
Epic Games has handed over the development reigns to The Coalition (who are also working on Gears of War 4), and the studio has been busy upscaling the resolution to 4K, and adding a bunch off other bells and whistle. Here’s a look at it in action, courtesy of Arekkz Gaming.
Not too bad for an almost ten year old game. The footage here is actually from the Xbox One version, but it gives you an idea of what it will look like with an improved resolution and 60FPS. You would imagine the success of the Ultimate Edition on PC will go some way towards Microsoft deciding whether to release the next entry in the series on the platform as well.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is set for release on the Xbox One this November, but we don’t have an exact date for the PC version just yet.
