Fallout 4 is just around the corner, and as if you needed more incentive to get excited about returing to the post-apocalyptic wasteland, the mod team behind Fallout: The Frontier has just released a very impressive new trailer for the New Vegas-powered project.
The Frontier swaps sun-baked, radioactive deserts for the snows of Portland Oregon, where the NCR and the Legion are locked in a bloody stalemate for control of the city.
The mod’s an ambitious one, adding loads of pretty new snowbound locations, as well as a cold weather system that will punish you if you head into the wilderness without the proper clothing. Looks like my ‘vest and tighty-whities’ combo that served me so well in New Vegas is out the window.
In terms of gameplay features, there’s a fairly exhaustive list here. Highlights include dynamic weather, new quests, boss fights, airborne assaults and war zone battles, as well as various new special effects and custom assets.
The team doesn’t have an official release date in mind just yet, but they hope to have the mod out by this Winter. Just in case you haven’t played enough Fallout by then.
