Blizzard has announced on the official blog that a new closed beta for their class-based shooter Overwatch will be starting on the 9th February next week. The new beta will feature several major changes, based on ”field data” from the last beta.
According to the developer, the new beta will include the following improvements:
- An all-new progression system
- Two new maps, including a new game mode
- Several hero balance updates
- And a variety of Private Game updates, including full A.I. matches
Blizzard didn’t go into detail on the improvements, but the studio did say there would be additional changes and tweaks to the beta not mentioned above.
”As a reminder: If you had access to the Closed Beta before the break, you will continue to have access during this next phase of testing,” said a spokesperson. ”With so much new content available, we’re also looking to recruit more players to help us get an even wider range of perspectives and feedback - so if you’re interested in participating, make sure to opt in!”
The 9th February launch date is for North America and Europe. Asian territories will start on 16th February.
