If you don't live in the UK, you probably have no reason to light your garden on fire this weekend in celebration of a failed plot to blow up the king 400 years ago. So if you need a way to waste the hours not spent around a bonfire, where do you go? Steam. There's another title having a free weekend.
While the last free weekend we noticed - Smash + Grab - had the secondary effect of being the last thing its developing company would ever do, this weekend's freebie is something that's been around a little while longer. Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide.
Though the sheer amount of Warhammer titles would be enough to confuse anyone, Vermintide is a first-person co-op action game rather than another hyper-violent shooter or strategy game faithful to the source material.
Set in the 'End Times' of the Warhammer universe, Vermintide strikes as a Left 4 Dead style four-player co-op bloodbath where axes consistently meet the skulls of short ratmen and... bigger ratmen.
You can download and play the game until Monday's usual Store refresh time - meaning yourself and some friends all have a reason to do a little pest control over the weekend. It'll remain at 50% throughout the event, too, should you want a more permanent copy.
