The Overwatch techies don't like surprises. Especially when it comes to Christmas. They already unearthed the inevitable existence of a Christmas-themes event for Blizzard's mega-popular shooter, but they've continued to dig for the sake of clarification.
Back during the Halloween event, the players didn't quite manage to grab a start date by sifting through the game files; and that hasn't become any clearer this time around, either. But they did learn a thing or two when it comes to how the game might look when it all does kick off.
So what did their recent data delve reveal? Well, if they're to be believed, we should expect a new themed special match type similar to Halloween's 'Junkenstein's Revenge' gig. In a vague stab in the dark, we could be looking at a Christmas reskin of one - or three - maps, too.
The last excavation session unearthed the Overwatch theme Christmas remix, too.
When it comes to cosmetics, however, things are a little clearer. We should be getting an exclusive spray, victory poise and voice line for each character, and skins for a select few. Those preparing to don the holiday attire are as follows;
Just remember to take everything with a grain of salt here. Apparently certain heroes will gain more than a single set of cosmetics, too. Kjasi also suspects a December 13 start, but we'll just have to wait and find out.
