In a sneak attack of the highest caliber, the Metro 2033 team are apparently hard at work gearing up to conclude the series with a new book and game next year.
Through an updated timeline on the series' website, we're given two new placements in the way of Metro 2035 - which will finally be available in English next month - and a blank spot simply titled "The next Metro video game" slotted neatly below.
Pre-orders for the book are taking place on Amazon right now, while we'll have to wait for an official statement from regular publisher Deep Silver as to when we'll learn more about the game.
"It all adds up to something. Where the books end their story, the game will pick it up. An era of great discoveries lies ahead…" says the text entry for the new video game. Where the book will have each of the past stories meet, the game is still being a little ambigious.
With the sequel now confirmed for release next year, it likely won't be long before information starts to trickle out.
