Prey is one of the most highly anticipated reboots in recent memory. While the new game is a reboot of the franchise, Bethesda are taking it in a completely different direction. “Prey is not a sequel, it’s not a remake, it has no tie with the original,” says Raphael Colantonio the game’s creative director.
The new trailer showcases some of the games gunplay and unique locations about the space station Talos 1. Specific details of the game’s mechanics and story are still somewhat sketchy but it’s clear Arkane Studios are taking a more survival horror combined with psychological thriller approach to the IP.
Many players of te original Prey have voiced concerns and outright disapproval to the complete change in direction as the original gain a cult following for its world design and story. It will be interesting to see if Arkane can convert people who love the original and get them behind their vision for the Prey franchise.
