We knew that Hitman would be getting a mid-season bonus episode this month, containing new targets to hunt in existing levels. We didn’t know that this content would only be available for owners of the Full Experience or Upgrade Packs, meaning that you can’t buy into these missions individually. That option will come “later in the season,” when the two missions get bundled with a third for a single price.
The Summer Bonus Episode goes live for season pass holders today, and includes two new targets. The Icon has players travel to a film set in Sapienza, ready to record a new sci-fi blockbuster featuring a 100-foot killer robot. In a House Built on Sand, you’ll once again infiltrate the markets of Marrakesh and attempt to stop a late night billion dollar deal there. There will loads of new opportunities and challenges for both locations, and two new weapons to unlock.

But enough about all that. Gary Busey is the man you really want to kill. Famous for both being in every single film released in the past forty years as well as being crazy, Busey beat out Gary Cole in the Choose Your Hit poll, and he’ll be available for murder starting this weekend. On July 21 at 14:00 CEST/05:00 PDT, you’ll have an extra-long chance to take down the elusive target, as it will run for 168 hours.
Hitman’s episodic release has been a point of contention for many fans of the series, but this game has been terrific and I’ve found the episodic structure to greatly benefit the core mechanics. I still haven’t managed to take down an elusive target, though. Maybe Busey will be the first. We’ll have a review of the Summer Bonus Episode later this week.
