It may be early on a Thursday morning, but the where there are daydreams, there shall be daymares. Nightdive Studio has put out a new trailer for the System Shock remaster.
System Shock may be old and tired by today's standards, but it's a sci-fi horror classic that went on to inspire games like Prey and Dead Space while spawning its spiritual successor with the beloved Bioshock franchise.
Pulling back the original voice actor from the first game, the killer AI of SHODAN plays a huge role in the set-up of the game's new Early Access trailer. She's condescending, ruling and all-powerful; and she just wants to run a few experiments on you. If you thought GLADOS was an egotistical mechanical maniac, you'll be haunted by what proceeded her in the 90s.

There doesn't seem to be much drive behind player interaction with enemies at the moment, but there's a lot of opportunities to see the corridors you'll walk and the hammer you'll wield against your foes. The shattering of frozen bodies seems to be dodged with a convenient corruption effect, though.
Such is the risk - and power - of Early Access, however. The game is technically still in a pre-alpha phase with a full release planned for 2018. The trailer comes with the announcement of the game switching over to Unreal Engine 4 as of now. There's still time to back it for an early discount.
