The Mortal Empires DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2 is out now, and is the much-advertised Combined Campaign of both Total War Warhammer games into one brutal campaign. In addition, Creative Assembly and SEGA have also made available the Blood for the Blood God DLC, which adds new Blood and Gore effects to the games - something we can all enjoy.
Our Review of Total War: Warhammer II!
Here's where Total War: Warhammer 3 will be set and what races we can expect!
The new Mortal Empires campaign has been talked about for a while, and it's finally here. If you own both Total War: Warhammer 1 and 2, you can download the free DLC and it will allow you to play through both campaigns together as the same race, even races from DLC packs like the Norsca. Visit the Total War store page and you can download it for free. From the press release:
"Distant Races across the Warhammer Fantasy Battles World will clash at last in the Mortal Empires campaign, out today. Free to owners of both Total War: WARHAMMER I and II, Mortal Empires sees the Old World and the New World merged into a colossal new sandbox campaign, playable through the WARHAMMER II frontend."
In addition, Creative Assembly have brought along a popular DLC from the first game and made it available to Total War: Warhammer 2 owners. The Blood For The Blood God DLC added hideous blood and gore effects to the game, and if you own it already you get the Warhammer 2 version for free. This pack offers:
All of which is awesome.
In addition to this, Total War: Warhammer 1 is half-price on Steam until Monday October 30, with selected DLC 33% off including the Chaos Warriors and Beastmen races. Sadly the Blood For The Blood God pack is not on offer.
We loved both games, and our reviewer TJ Denzer called Total War: Warhammer 2 "one of the most engaging and awesome marriages of turn-based and real-time strategy out there... there’s a great deal of enjoyment to be had that will keep you busy hour upon hour through multiple campaigns, skirmishes, and battles. Total War: Warhammer 2 continues to hoist the bar even higher for both Total War and Warhammer." Awesome stuff.
