Amazon is working on its very own MMO sandbox game, and a recent leak appears to contain our first look at its gameplay.
A reddit user by the name of "conquistad" made a single post on the New World subreddit with a video. Named Tenebras Lux -- that's Latin for "Light the Darkness" -- the footage shows what looks like three game characters alongside a couple of shots of in-game maps and locations, including some very early animation.

Titled New World, Amazon's silent project is a "massively multiplayer open-ended sandbox game set in a living, cursed land". It basically takes place in a XVII century Colonial America where the supernatural exist, adding a whiff of the fantastical to (and probably removing native killin' from) the procedures.
The video shows unfinished animations and what appears to be an 8-degree directional system without smooth transitions. Take this whole story with a grain of salt for now, but if true, keep in mind this is most likely a very early build of the game meant for development purposes only. We've reached out to Amazon Game Studios and will update this if we hear back from them.
