In a recent gaming seminar, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński appeared to talk about the company's games, and revealed a few details about their long-awaited next RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. According to Kiciński it is "more ambitious than The Witcher 3" and is a "true RPG" with a "gamer-centric focus".
You can watch the Cyberpunk section of the talk here. It was recorded at the attractively named Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar 2018. The video's embedded below but be aware it's several hours long - the Cyberpunk talk starts at 3:34:04.
In the section, Adam Kiciński describes the game as their "new Witcher 3, but even more ambitious... it's a true RPG, like The Witcher 3. Hand-crafted, detailed open-world with open-ended gameplay." He also says that "our goal is to establish a new blockbuster franchise, from the beginning" and that the game has a "gamer-centric focus"
He also notes that the Cyberpunk 2077 team has well over 300 people working on it, which is "3x bigger than the team working on Gwent". And if it needed confirming, later on they confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 would not be exclusive to their own digital service GOG.com and would be on Steam too.
As for when they were actually going to start talking about it, he joked "before when it's ready" and "the campaign will start one day, and you will see it!"
On January 10, the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account tweeted for the first time in 4 years with the simple word "beep". A lot of people took this to mean it was starting up again and we were finally going to get some solid news about the game, but it's a month and a half later and it's looking likely that our own guess was correct and CD Projekt were just doing a big troll.
