The Cities: Skylines upcoming DLC pack, Parklife, got a new trailer today showing off what the new features will look like in action once the expansion is launched on the 24th May. Parklife is bringing new ways to weave rest and recreation into your city plan, with amusement parks and nature reserves, as well as a hoard of new assets.
Parklife is all about the creation of, surprisingly enough, parks in your city. The first step in that process is the use of the park area tool, allowing you to designate the territory you want to convert. After that, the opportunities open up - you can build theme parks filled with roller coasters, zoos, or national parks. Some mechanical changes are coming to facilitate this, such as allowing the freeform placement of buildings within park areas.
You'll be able to set up paid, guided tours in your parks as an additional revenue stream beyond entrance fees. Three new city policies and eight park policies will help you prevent the various disasters that may arise from the irresponsible and unregulated use of these facilities. The DLC also brings a new monument to the game, the Castle of Lord Chirpwick.
Parklife is available for pre-order via Steam, and is discounted leading up to launch. Following release, the DLC will be available for 14,99 EUR, while Parklife Plus will include an additional radio station called Country Road Radio - this will include 6 instrumental songs and 10 with vocals. Cities: Skylines - Parklife launches on the 24th of May.
