It’s not been an easy first two weeks for Fallout 76. After Bethesda’s multiplayer take on Fallout launched, players and critics alike were thoroughly underwhelmed by how empty its world felt and outright amazed at the amount of bugs the game shipped with.
From the odd stuck NPC to crashes, disconnects and one player ending up immortal while Bethesda couldn’t seemingly fix it, it’s been quite a wild ride for Fallout 76 and not for the right reasons.
But all of its flaws aren’t enough to stop film maker and composer John Carpenter from enjoying the game, it seems. “FALLOUT 76 is a glitchathon of a game, stuttering and freezing, but still fun, addicting with its post nuke open world. A big game with hit & miss missions. Despite its flaws, I dig it.”, he said on Twitter.
People’s reactions to the tweet were quite varied. Some agree with John Carpenter’s take on the troubled online survival game, others continue to say that it’s not all that great, while quite a few people suggest that they’d love to see him making video games.
It’s definitely not something you tend to hear often, but snooping around on Twitter reveals that, like John Carpenter, some others are doing what they can and enjoying their time with Fallout 76. Here’s hoping that they’ll get to see the game gradually improve at a steady pace.
