Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Triumph Studios have announced that Age of Wonders 4’s Secrets of the Archmages DLC will officially release on June 16, 2026, bringing with it the new Owlkin form, a serious dose of forbidden magic, and more.
As its name suggests, the DLC is “themed around secret, forbidden powers hidden by Age of Wonders’ Wizard Kings.” We’ll get our taste of them thanks to the introduction of six new tomes that offer new defensive and offensive abilities, including summoning an army of spiders to overwhelm our opponents.
Age of Wonders 4’s Secrets of the Archmages DLC Gets June Release Date
Three new story realms also promise a new dose of narrative content when Age of Wonders 4’s Secrets of the Archmages DLC releases in June. They task us with tracking down Merlin’s apprentice, surviving “a chaotic, infernal world of endless carnage,” and rescuing famed hero Ham Binger from a Fey Domain.

- 6 New Tomes: Add the powers of the legendary Wizard Kings to your library and wield new spells to complement your arcane strategy. Safeguard your armies with the Tome of Abjuration or let your units feast upon your enemies with the Tome of Gluttony. Delve into the Tome of the Sprite and wield the befuddling powers of the Fey, or use the Tome of the Weaver to unleash a sprawling spider army. Unleash furious, demonic arts in the Tome of Burning Passion, or master the universe itself and become one with the Tome of the Cosmos!

Age of Wonders 4’s Secrets of the Archmages DLC is set to release on June 16, 2025, when it arrives on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It will be available both individually, for the price of $19.99/£16.99/€19.99 or your regional equivalent, and as part of the 4X strategy game’s Expansion Pass 3 bundle.
