Anno 117: Pax Romana won’t have a stamp feature at launch, developer Ubisoft Mainz has confirmed, while stating that it doesn’t rule out the possibility of said feature returning after the city builder releases.
If you’ve played Anno 1800, you’ll remember its stamp feature as a handy quality of life addition that enabled saving specific layouts to custom buttons. Anything from simple production chains to entire cities could be deployed quite easily thanks to it. Better yet, it also allowed sharing these setups with other members of the community.
Anno 117 Stamp Feature
“It’s not part of the release version of the game,” Community Developer Ubi-Thorlof wrote during a recent Reddit AMA. “But we’re committed to adding not just DLC but also free updates with QoL features in postlaunch [sic], so, the Stamp Feature might also see a return.
They go on to note that the team “wouldn’t want to 1:1 copy it from Anno 1800.” If Anno 117: Pax Romana is to get its own stamp feature, it would need to “improve upon the previous version,” and “go through a proper design phase for a feature like this.”
Although the Roman-themed city builder appears to operate on a smaller scale than its predecessor, having the ability to deploy entire layouts at the click of a button would, nonetheless, remain a boon.
During the same Reddit AMA, developer Ubisoft Mainz also explained why Albion won’t have its own monument building at launch, while also confirming that a structure similar to Anno 1800’s Docklands isn’t part of its plans.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is set to release on November 13, 2025, when it arrives on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
