Anthem looks great, that much is obvious no matter where you look, but with those looks comes poor performance on PC, made even worse with the latest update. Frostbite engine can run extremely well with great visual fidelity, but that's clearly not the default.
Anthem FPS fix is something that a substantial number of players has been looking for, and we're happy to report that some kind soul has found and shared some really helpful tips via Reddit!
What is the FPS Fix for Anthem?</center>
There are three major things that you need to do in order to get Anthem running better than it does right now. The very first fix relates to severe Anthem audio stuttering that some players have been reporting:
- go to your audio drivers interface and change the audio output quality to 24bit 44100 Hz (studio quality)
The second fix is actually a list of general performance tweaks for Nvidia GeForce users. You need to go to the GeForce Control Panel (not GeForce Experience, mind), select Anthem from the list of programs to specify detailed 3D settings for, and then apply the following settings:
- set Trilinear Optimisation ON
- set Texture Filtering quality to PERFORMANCE
- turn Texture Filtering Anisotropic Sample Optimisation ON
- set Power Management Mode to PREFER MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE
Finally, if you've got an SSD installed in your gaming rig, you can go to Advanced System Settings, open the 'Performance' box, and make sure that your pagefile is setup to use your SSD instead of your HDD. It goes without saying that any given SSD is significantly faster than any old HDD, so you want your pagefile to use the faster memory when it becomes necessary.
Now that your game is running way better than it did before, have a look at how you, too, can unlock the special Anthem N7 Mass Effect armour for added pizzaz. We'll also keep posting future FPS tweaks and fixes for Anthem here, so stay tuned.
