After a bout of silence, Anthem’s social media channels came back to life today, as Bioware revealed the patch notes and release of the looter shooter’s Update 1.2.0.
Update 1.2.0 “is setting things up for a future update” which will introduce Anthem’s postponed Cataclysm feature. A Public Test Server will also be opened on PC for those willing to test Cataclysm ahead of its release.
Anthem Update 1.2.0 Patch Notes
As the patch notes reveal, Update 1.2.0 adds a host of changes to Anthem’s Freeplay mode.The compass now shows collectible items as a question mark when players find themselves near one, while a purple target icon now shows the area where enemies guaranteed to drop loot will spawn.
Update 1.2.0 also adds a “simple UI” which allows players to communicate non-verbally and use emotes. It can be brought up by pressing the B key. Anthem is now slightly richer in number of activities, with the introduction of three new Emerald Abyss legendary missions. Players will also find that Dominion Storm and Frost Brutes no longer have shields.
A sizeable chunk of Update 1.2.0 is reserved for bug fixes, aiming to make the Anthem play experience smoother. You can check out the full patch notes over on the game’s website.
