Publisher and developer Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will let you freely swap protagonist’s Eivor gender.
Much like Odyssey before it, AC: Valhalla also asks players to choose between a male and female protagonist, although, the gender choice won’t be permanent this time around.
“You can decide to play male or female”, Game Director Eric Baptizat told GamesRadar. “[…] you are allowed to change, at any time, your skill tree or the gender of your character – you can swap at any time.”

“It was important to make this option available for the player. It’s something that the player can decide for the way they want to play, because it has some impact on the narrative – but it’s not two different stories. It’s the same story of the character – whatever options your character decides.”, he continued.
This comes as a result of AC: Valhalla focusing on giving players the “freedom to experiment”, difficulty being the third aspect mentioned which falls under that umbrella.
During the Ubisoft Forward event, we also got a look at more of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s map and locations, giving us a better sense of the places we’ll visit and how visually varied they will be.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set to launch on November 17.
